            Mother Church of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul

XIII - XVIII century - It is characterized on the outside by the beautiful colonnade that runs along one of its sides. 

It is enclosed by two bell towers from different eras: the oldest tower has an Arab-Norman window divided by a small column with capital in which the marble statues of the apostles Peter and Paul, patrons of Petralia Soprana, were placed.

The other tower is eighteenth century. In the center is a portico with eighteen Tuscan-style columns.

The wooden entrance door has panels carved in Gothic - Catalan style. The interior is divided into three naves supported by twelve pillars representing the twelve apostles.

Inside there are sculptures and paintings from the 1400s - 1600s - 1800s, among which one of the first crucifixes by the sculptor Frate Umile Pintorno from Petralia Soprana stands out.

Chiesa Madre Santi Apostoli Pietro e Paolo

Sec. XIII - XVIII - Si caratterizza all'esterno per il bel colonnato che corre lungo uno dei suoi fianchi.

E' racchiusa da due campanili di epoca diversa: la torre più antica presenta una finestra Arabo - Normanna divisa da una colonnina con capitello nella quale vennero collocate le statue in marmo degli apostoli Pietro e Paolo, patroni di Petralia Soprana. 

L'altra torre è settecentesca. Al centro un portico con diciotto colonne di stile tuscanico.

Il portone ligneo d'ingresso presenta riquadri scolpiti in stile  gotico - catalano. L'interno è diviso in tre navate sorrette da dodici pilastri rappresentanti i dodici apostoli.

All'interno sculture e dipinti del 400 - 600 - 800 tra cui spicca uno dei primi crocifissi dello scultore Frate Umile Pintorno da Petralia Soprana.
