Red currant, currently green - a photo on Flickriver

            It just so happens that we have recently bought a plant of red currant in a pot, waiting for more clement weather to put it in the garden.
And chance has it that this red currant is currently (!!) transitioning from the blooming period to wearing fruits.
I have been surprised at how elegant the tiny blooms are, with a delicate touch of pink adorning their leaves... The new coming fruits are of different sized but all green. Some still have the remanent part of the flowers they're coming from, which makes it perfect for witnessing their evolution. There's literally a generation gap  within a same plant, and blooms can watch in awe how their slightly older siblings take their round shapes and get ready for the ripening process!
