218 460 Wampeltsham (14304n) - a photo on Flickriver

            Am 31. Oktober 2022 schob die 218 460 die RB 27032 von Mühldorf nach München HBF. Kurz vor Dorfen hat der Zug seine Fahrt schon verlangsamt, da ein Kreuzungsaufenthalt bevorstand. Die ozeanblau-beige Maschine der Westfrankenbahn war im Herbst längerfristig an die Südostbayernbahn verliehen. Im Februar 2023 erlitt die Lok dort vor einem Zug der RB 40 Linie leider einen Schaden am Turbolader. Dies verschaffte ihr auch ein gewisses Medienecho, da der durch diesen Defekt entstehende Qualm von der Lüftungsanlage der Doppelstockwagen angesaugt wurde und einige Reisende Rauchvergiftungen erlitten. Nachdem einen Tag später ein ähnlicher Schaden bei einer weiteren mit dem MTU 4000 R41 Motor ausgerüsteten 218 auftrat, wurde angewiesen, alle Loks mit diesem Triebwerk abzustellen. 

On 31 October 2022, 218 460 pushed RB 27032 from Mühldorf to Munich HBF. Shortly before Dorfen, the train had already slowed down its journey, as a crossing stop was imminent. The ocean blue-beige machine of the Westfrankenbahn was on long-term loan to the Südostbayernbahn in autumn. In February 2023, the locomotive unfortunately suffered damage to the turbocharger there in front of a train of the RB 40 line. This also gave it some media attention, as the smoke caused by this defect was sucked in by the ventilation system of the double-decker coaches and some passengers suffered smoke poisoning. After similar damage occurred a day later on another 218 equipped with the MTU 4000 R41 motor, it was ordered that all locomotives with this engine had to be taken out of service.
