The Wilderness Church…. - a photo on Flickriver

This little church is one of our favorite places to visit in Silver Dollar City, Branson, Missouri. It’s always serene and peaceful in the midst of the bustling energy of the city. We first visited this amazing park as newlyweds, then with our children, and finally with our 4 grandchildren! This past week, after a long absence, we returned…just the two of us. Over 6 million lights and 6,000 visitors on that day and one funnel cake later, we agreed it was still a fantastic and beautiful place to spend the day and evening! A little more information: “This authentic country church is a vintage log chapel originally built in 1849 on Bear Creek near Branson. The structure was dismantled log by log, lovingly rebuilt in its current location, and dedicated on July 10, 1960. The giant sycamore tree that once stood on the site was hand carved into the church's pulpit by Lester Vining, and is still used today. Experience the peaceful charm of Silver Dollar City's Wilderness Church.”
