En 1873, l’architecte Alphonse Balat conçoit un complexe de serres en relation avec le château de Laeken, près de Bruxelles. Ce complexe revêt l’apparence d’une ville de verre implantée dans un paysage vallonné avec des pavillons monumentaux, des coupoles de verre, des larges galeries qui parcourent le terrain comme des rues couvertes.Ce style fait partie de l'Art Nouveau .(Wikipédia)
In 1873, architect Alphonse Balat designed a greenhouse complex in relation with the Castle of Laeken, near Brussels. This complex has the appearance of a glass city set in an undulating landscape with monumental pavilions, glass cupolas, wide arcades that cross the site like covered streets.
