Theme: Vlisco. The company Vlisco dates from the early 19th century. Vlisco is engaged in the manufacturing and textile printing, called Dutch Wax Prints, which was destined for the Dutch East Indies. For the Dutch East Indies trade route African soldiers were deployed. Upon returning to Ghana Ghana was introduced to the Dutch Wax Prints, so the demand from West Africa became increasingly larger, printed textiles from Vlisco Helmond. By improving competition in India's West Africa has become the main market of Vlisco.

To develop this theme I've teamed up with clothing designer Dauvia Nijenhuis, she has the qualities of the substances that are designed and produced by Vlisco, to create unique modern stylish clothes.
It was an eye-opener to me how you can create 'traditional' materials, modern stylish clothes.

Light setup:
In this picture I used two studio lights feature a umbrella, studio lamp on the front where you flash through and studio lamp left behind which is a function of a softbox, has both the function and its light is illuminating the background .

In the past two years being a photographer, I have certain things combined, on the one hand the simplicity of using a fleece blanket from Ikea, which gives a nice texture to the background at a low aperture. But on the other hand also knowing that as models in front of the camera, they generally are not what they know to do with their hands, by means of holding an object, I have made sure that the hands were given a function and a became part of the picture.
In making this picture I looked in any way I certain color tones in the picture subtly could repeat in the photo, the blue tones in clothing can be seen in the background, but the vase (actually a lampshade Ikea) has shades that comes near her skin tones.

It away from the model in this picture, gives a nice feeling to this photo, that the model is aware that she is beautiful, but do not want to emphasize.

In the post-processing of the art, I have made use of: Frequence separation, wherein I by means of the addition of an extra layer texture, the hair can give additional power in the photo.

This is the first picture of a set of photos that I ge-exhibited during my final exhibition at the photography school. In this fotoreek I mainly looked at how I could make beating a photo. A photo where you pay attention to small elements to make a whole.
