En el aire / Floating in the Air - a photo on Flickriver

            Fata Morgana es el efecto óptico que se produce muy pocas veces cuando el Mar Menor esta en calma total, o planchado y se trata de un fenómeno, conocido (Fata Morgana viene a significar hada en latín), crea un espejismo que se produce cuando el sol calienta la atmósfera sobre la tierra o el mar, lo que entremezcla temperaturas sin mucho orden ni criterio 
La Encañizada de la Torre es la única que se conserva en todo el Mar Mediterráneo y está en el paraje de Veneziola al norte de La Manga y al sur del Parque Regional Salinas de San Pedro.
El edificio fue construido en el año 1509, y de las cinco encañizadas que estuvieron funcionando en los años 50 y 60, la de La Torre, después de varias restauraciones, es la última que está en funcionamiento, en un espacio natural protegido que aún conserva sus formas originales. 
Este arte de pesca de las encañizadas, originario de la época árabe, cuenta con seis siglos de pesca artesanal. La pesca en las encañizadas consiste en colocar cañas formando laberintos circulares en canales de agua entre el Mar Mayor y el Mar Menor para que los peces que pasen queden atrapados en el laberinto, sobre todo lubinas y doradas que salen después de desovar en aguas más cálidas del Mar Menor.


It is the optical effect that occurs very rarely when the Mar Menor is in total calm, or ironed. The Encañizada de la Torre is the only one that is preserved in the entire Mediterranean Sea and is in the place of Veneziola north of La Manga and south of the Salinas de San Pedro Regional Park.

The building was built in 1509, and of the five encañizadas that were in operation in the 50s and 60s, that of La Torre, after several restorations, is the last that is in operation, in a protected natural area that still retains its original forms. This art of fishing of the encañizadas, originating from the Arab era, has six centuries of artisanal fishing. Fishing in the encañizadas consists of placing rods forming circular labyrinths in water channels between the Mar Mayor and the Mar Menor so that the fish that pass are trapped in the labyrinth, especially sea bass and sea bream that come out after spawning in warmer waters of the Mar Menor.
