The Bournemouth Belle - a photo on Flickriver

            A1 Peppercorn No. 60163 'Tornado' pauses at Bournemouth Central Signal Box, with the return 'Bournemouth Belle' special to London Victoria.

The train had been to Swanage for loco and stock servicing, whilst the passengers were left at Bournemouth for the afternoon.
On the trains return, the WCRC class 57 hauls the train from Swanage to Bournemouth with the steam trailing on the rear. With a reversal move at Southampton, Tornado would then haul the rest of the tour back to the capital.

Taken from Platform 2 at Bournemouth, where the platform sits underneath the Spur Road.
If only it was a Merchant Navy Bullied!. Would of been fully authentic recreation of the correct loco against the old signal box.
