Historic wooden farmer's shed in flooded Dutch polder

High water level in the Noordwaard polder of the Biesbosch, Noord-Brabant, the Netherlands. The old barn (built in 1900) is protected against the water by a ring dike. Its is a stormy day in winter.

Historische boerenschuur (anno 1900) binnen een ringdijk in de ondergelopen polder Noordwaard in de Brabantse Biesbosch bij Werkendam. Sinds eind 2015 is de Noordwaard ontpolderd om, in het kader van het project Ruimte voor de Rivier, bij hoge waterstand in de aangrenzende Nieuwe Merwede, tijdelijk te dienen als waterberging.
