HMS Prince of Wales, R09, under construction; Roysth Dockyard, Fife, Firth of Forth

This shows the Royal Navy's future HMS Prince of Wales, under construction in Roysth in 2013. She is the sister ship to HMS Queen Elizabeth, R08 (currently - July 2017 - under-going sea trials in the Moray Firth). This was taken before the UK government changed its mind from launching aircraft conventionally, via catapults, to a ski jump - a decision many still regard today as a backward step.
