View on Kagbeni (In Explore 29-10-2024)

            I started in the Annapurna area acclimatizing three days at 2800 meters. On the second day I walked from Jomsom to Kagbeni, discovering there was a big Hindu celebration going on  almost resulting in not finding a ho(s)tel. 

Next morning the whole valley was filled with pilgrims who were washing themselves in a very cold river (Kali Gandaki) and who were enjoying the company of friends and family. Other people were heading in the direction of Muktinath, and all the roads would fill up with buses, taxis and cars, going the way up.

In the meantime I did a stroll a little up a mountain to have this wonderful view of the valley. The Nilgiri mountain, that is part of the Annapurna massive  in the background.
