Sure Wish I'd Done This More - a photo on Flickriver

            After the summer 1982 schedule change train 912 became a late afternoon/evening eastbound through Trout Lake. That eliminated it from being photographed for a good part of the year and made it backlit unless you felt like taking a drive to Dafter in the summer. There the track alignment swung to the north allowing good sun on 912 during summer evenings. 747 and 750 have 50 cars heading to the CPR in June 1983 at Dafter. They have just crossed M28 and are about 15 minutes out of Soo Yard. This days 912 is blocked with some manifest traffic up front and the COFC to the rear of the train. I pretty much kick myself for not shooting this job more often in those days. Looking back on my notes from this day I had quite a run of good luck in the area shooting 910 at Trout Lake with 6603 and 772, then I went over to Sault Ont. and caught CP 8766 and 7099 at the roundhouse, Next up was a quick run over to Steelton where I shoot ACR 172 at the yard and caught the incoming tour train with 205 and 201. I quickly headed back to the CP and got 911 arriving with 4234, 1806 and 4247. After that I headed back to Michigan and finished my day with this shot. June 18, 1983. A rescan.
