Bronze pillar herm of Herakles wrapped in a lion skin and wearing an ivy wreath

            This type of herm was used for representations of Herakles and satyrs. Similar figures are found on Hellenistic grave reliefs from East Greece. Marble examples from Delos were boundary markers for the Gymnasion and the Palaistra.
