Okanogan Downtown - a photo on Flickriver

Okanogan Downtown

            Okanogan is suffering from the same transition from Hometown to backwater as new shopping centers replace the small businesses that were the heart of small towns in the 1950s.  I remember walking through downtown and admiring the cornucopia of merchandise showcased in the Blackwell Department Store in the distance and having a hand dipped ice cream cone at the shop next to barbershop. Good times for a kid growing up in small town America
