Payneham, South Australia. Argent Uniting Church formerly Argent Methodist Church at Payneham Cemetery.

            The oldest church in the Payneham area, Argent was established in 1848. It was founded by the Reverend Joseph Long, the first Primitive Methodist minister in South Australia.
To accommodate an expanding congregation the building was demolished in 1859 to make room for this church – extensions followed in the 1880s. The church is surrounded by the Payneham Cemetery formerly known as the Methodist Cemetery.
