Cairn and informative plaque at Mandurang, the geographical centre of Victoria Australia

            In March 2001 Mandurang was officially recognised as the geographic centre of Victoria.

A permanent survey mark denotes the spot – very close to a cairn with information plaque.

Mandurang, derived from an Aboriginal word meaning black cicada, is a rural locality between Bendigo and Elmhurst, Victoria. It developed as a goldfield settlement and logging locality, and today consists of small farms and wineries.
