            Daylesford Town Hall 
Constructed in 1883 – 1885 for the Borough of Daylesford by the builder George Clayfield, to the design of architect George Raymond Johnson, who became an expert in town hall designs, specialising in grand classical compositions.
The building is regarded as one of his most important country works, designed in the Victorian Academic Classical architectural style. 

The hall contains a seated balcony and large floor space, as well as a stage.
Until recently the hall housed Council Chambers and offices.

Yesterday, Messrs Cooper and Wheeler, MLA's, had an interview with the Treasurer, to urge the fulfilment of an alleged verbal promise that the Daylesford Borough Council should be granted time to recoup them for the expenditure on the purchase of a site for the town hall
Sir Bryan O’Loghlen undertook to look into the matter and comply with the request if that course seemed desirable and just.
