Endangered Species (10) (32999) - a photo on Flickriver

            Over the last 18 or so months, the number of First Glasgow Y-reg President-bodied Tridents has dropped to a mere three examples, all of which are ex-Lanarkshire Caledonia-based machines: 32989 (Y989 NLP), 32991 (Y991 NLP) & 32999 (Y933 NLP). With several 51-reg Presidents having already left the fleet for scrap, they have proven themselves stubborn survivors. Time will tell whether or not they'll be swept aside as the cull of the type continues or if they'll continue to defy the odds and plod onwards.

The youngest of the surviving Y-reg trio is caught loading on Glasgow's Union St with a 10 from Holland St* to Sliverburn (via Paisley Road West).

*: With Douglas St closed for repaving works, the 10 & peak-time only X78 are currently having to share the Holland St terminus two blocks to the east with the 18.
