Eastern Tiger Swallowtail_DSC2992 - a photo on Flickriver

            Butterfly season is still going strong in my little World of Wings and Whimsy.  This image was taken through the living room window.   Of course, one thing led to another, and I was outside by the pond shortly after taking this image. 

As I sat by the pond feeding the Koi, I was in awe of the beauty that surrounded me.  I decided to try and count the butterflies as I listened to the chatter from my regular feathered friends.  Migration is underway so I will be counting birds soon.    
 
Yesterday's butterfly count is as follows, although, some may have gone unnoticed: 

Eastern Tiger Swallowtails: 3 
Giant Swallowtails: 5
Sulfurs: 8
Monarchs: 7
Gulf Fritillaries: 3
Spicebush: 4
Pipevine Swallowtail: 5
Polydamas Swallowtail: 11
Red-spotted Purple Admiral: 1
Eastern Black Swallowtail: 1
Zebra Heliconian: X (too many to count)

Side note: My butterfly garden is overflowing to the front yard now.  So, there could have been more beauties in the front that were not being counted.
