Approaching Bear

            We were walking back to the ranger station from Brooks Falls when this grizzly popped out of the woods and onto the road we were on, and walked our way. I was with two others and we walked off the road and into the vegetation so the bear could pass. As it reached a point perpendicular to us it hesitated and looked like it might come towards us. I yelled at it to keep on going, which it did. After it had safely passed we clambered back onto the road from the ditch we had gone into and continued. This is a common encounter between bears and people at Brooks Falls.
