            Taken in France in March 1917.
Great Uncle George Newman on my wife's side is seated in this picture. This is probably on the Somme based on a previous picture.
There is a rather interesting element to this picture as you can see by the comments written on the back.

"To my Dear mother with love from your affectionate son George, March 1917.
P.S. This has been coloured by one of my pals in spare moments.
