Only 4 specimens of Cephalocattarus waorani have been discovered so far, but their remarkable resemblance to Cephalotes pavonii found in the same canopy-fogging samples of Onkone Gare leaves little doubt that this is the model after which this cattarine bug is patterned. The broadly explanate pronotal margins, humeral spines and constricted hemielytræ along with the black overall coloration accented with brownish-orange on the head, pronotum and legs give them an appearance remarkably similar to C. pavonii. At least 13 central american spp of Cephalotes (as C. clypeatus) also appear to be models for batesian mimicry for no less than 40 arthropods. Ants of this genus are arboreal or at least prefer to nest in twig cavities; some spp are capable of flattening their bodies against a substrate, making them extremely difficult to pick up; this is unlike most arboreal ants which rely on agility to escape danger. The primary defense of many of these ants appears to be chemical and ☿☿ picked up in the field typically give off a strong odor. The heads of major ☿☿ in some spp are strongly modified into saucer-like structures that may be used to block nest entrances. Kempf 1951 and Andrade & Urbani 1999 redescribed and reported C. pavonii from BR, GF, GY, PE, SR. Nothing specific seems to be known about their biology.
