The Q and the IC - a photo on Flickriver

The Q and the IC

            While the photo quality may not be the greatest, I know people will still enjoy it regardless.

CN 3008, the Illinois Central heritage unit, makes a rare appearance on the BNSF leading M-CNIGAL from Kirk Yard in Gary, IN to Galesburg, IL via Eola, IL. The locomotive is passing through Mendota, IL, where a former CB&Q 2-8-2 #4978 sits on display just south of the current station building, which once saw both Burlington and Illinois Central traffic pass through town.

While one engine is obviously far newer than the other, it's still nice to see such history represented.
