Threshing Rice/ La Trilla de Arroz - Indonesia - Analog Series

            Threshing is the process of loosening the edible part of cereal grain (or other crop) from the scaly, inedible chaff that surrounds it.

Hand threshing was very laborious. In this case they are using sticks to separate the rice. I think it's rice,  though I have read that using sticks to thresh rice was not a very popular method, so it may be a different crop! I don't remember!

I was actually surprised to find this image among my slides since there have been more advanced ways to thresh a crop!

La trilla es el proceso de separar la parte comestible (el grano) del cereal (u otro cultivo) de la envoltura que protege la semilla.

La trilla a mano es un proceso muy laborioso. En este caso están usando varas. Creo que es arroz, aunque he leído que el uso de palos para trillar el arroz no era un método muy popular, así que puede que sea un cultivo diferente! No me acuerdo!

Estaba realmente sorprendida de encontrar esta imagen entre mis diapositivas puesto que ya existian formas más avanzadas para trillar una cosecha!
