Gympie-Gympie Plant - a photo on Flickriver

The Gympie Gympie Plant (dendrocnide moroides). Once stung, never forgotten.
One of the world’s most venomous plants, the Gympie-Gympie stinging tree can cause months of excruciating pain for unsuspecting humans.
Recently I went up to Green Mountain (O'Reilly's Resort) for several days and nights, but the previous time I went up there I was stung by one of these terrible plants. It was a terrible painful experience and I finished up in the hospital emergency department, so avoid these plants. DO NOT TOUCH.
The plants have many minute hollow stinging hairs called trichomes on the leaves and stems, which act like tiny hypodermic needles, injecting poison into the unfortunate victim.
If you look at this image enlarged, you will see all the tiny hairs on the leaves and stems which cause the damage.
