Comma butterfly (Polygonia c-album) (Please read my poetry)

            This beautiful little butterfly was partaking in the sweet delights the blue hebe had on offer.

This is a normally frequent visitor to my garden here in Bristol. 
Alas, this year, so far, its appearance is somewhat lacking with just the occasional glimpse. 
This is, unfortunately, the case with most insect species. Yes, I do worry for our nature. 

To attain this Comma butterfly image, I had to be very silent  ninja-like slowly coming close to this particular butterfly so as not to spook it. Usually, if it spotted me advancing, it would flutter away.

The reason this butterfly is named Comma is because of the white comma like marking to its under-wing area.
When its wings are closed up, it resembles a brown dried up leaf. This, in turn, is this butterfly's camouflage  .... awesome nature at work.

Come on, yon butterfly flutter thy wings,
dance though the flowers as the robin sings,
oh, you make my heart happy  and free,
twisting, fluttering, oh how I love thee,
you remind me of sweet angel wings,
silly dancing, of love and special things.
