Melancholic Morning - a photo on Flickriver

            NS 8030 & 4176 use every little bit of track speed they have as they rocket train 21T (intermodal: GI8 Yard, Harrisburg, PA - Voltz Yard, Kansas City, MO) westbound through a secluded spot just a bit west of Paris, MO, Co Rd 249. Looking back on it, something about this particular shot makes me feel really sad for some reason. I'm not even sure what it is. I'm not upset at how it turned out, in fact, it looks much better than I expected it to. No, it's something else. Maybe I'm just imagining it, but something about this train coming out of the slight fog with the sun rising right behind it really gets to me. I definitely want to come back here and get an eastbound shot, which is equally, if not more photogenic than the westbound angle. Taken along Norfolk Southern's Springfield-Hannibal District on 7/25/20.
