Verdier d'Europe mâle ( Chloris chloris - European Greenfinch )

            Le verdier d'Europe est un passereau trapu de la taille du Moineau domestique. 

Son corps est compact, effet accentué par la queue assez courte et le gros bec conique. 
Le mâle adulte apparaît globalement jaune-vert-olive. 

Ce qui permet de le reconnaître tout de suite, au posé comme en vol, c'est le jaune vif des ailes et de la queue.

The European Greenfinch is a stocky passerine the size of the House Sparrow.
Its body is compact, an effect accentuated by the rather short tail and the large conical beak.
The adult male appears overall yellow-olive-green. What allows it to be recognized immediately, both on the ground and in flight, is the bright yellow of the wings and tail.
