Islay - Kilarrow Parish Church - a photo on Flickriver

            Kilarrow Parish Church, Bowmore, Isle of Islay. The church is the only circular church in Scotland, built that way, reputedly, so that the devil had no corner to hide in. The church contains the medals and other memories of the Rev. Donald Caskie, "The Tartan Pimpernel". Rev. Caskie worked bravely in occupied France to return allied servicemen to the UK at great peril to his own safety.
The war graves in the foreground honour the joint grave of two merchant seaman who lost their lives in World War 2. 
Lachlan MacNeil, Able Seaman from Horve, Barra and Angus MacAskill of Berneray, North Uist. They were lost when their tanker MV Ben Hann disappeared without trace on a voyage from Fort William to Bowling on the River Clyde. The wreck of the "Ben Hann" was found in 2012 off the west coast of Kintyre.
