Pour se souvenir et rendre hommage à toutes ces vies sacrifiées pendant la Grande Guerre, l’Anneau de la Mémoire, mémorial international, rassemble depuis 2014 les noms de près de 580.000 noms gravés sur le territoire du Nord Pas-de-Calais entre 1914 et 1918.

L’Anneau fait plus de 345 mètres de périmètre dont 56 mètres en porte-à-faux au-dessus du vide. Cette forme unique évoque la fraternité, à la manière d’une ronde d’enfants qui se tiennent la main. Alors que le porte-à-faux rappelle l’équilibre fragile de cette paix retrouvée.

Erected in 2014, the Ring of Remembrance is an international memorial that has been engraved with the names of almost 580,000 soldiers who lost their lives in Nord-Pas-de-Calais between 1914 and 1918, to remember and pay tribute to all these lives sacrificed during the Great War.

The Ring has a perimeter of more than 345 meters, including 56 meters cantilevered above the void. This unique shape evokes fraternity, like a round of children holding hands. While the overhang recalls the fragile balance of this newfound peace.
