Scène d'amour à Tanikely - a photo on Flickriver

            700 mètres sur 600 : cette île minuscule est située à une dizaine de kilomètres au sud de Nosy Be, et à moins de quinze à l'est de Nosy Komba. Sable et rochers en font un lieu privilégié pour la plongée au milieu d'une faune aquatique particulièrement riche et constituant un véritable aquarium naturel.
Sur la terre ferme, montant depuis la plage du nord-est, un sentier est aménagé dans la forêt et permet de se hisser au sommet couronné par un phare, en haut duquel on profite d'un panorama extraordinaire.
Près du phare, un peu en contrebas est édifié un Centre d'Interprétation où je n'ai pas croisé âme qui vive, mais qui était ouvert au curieux qui comme moi avait pris la peine de monter. Quelques panneaux d'information permettaient d'informer le visiteur -- j'étais seul -- et justifiaient par là-même l'existence de ce Centre.
Couverte de forêts denses, Tanikely constitue en effet, y apprend-on, un abri pour le pteropus rufus ou le renard volant, la plus grande et la plus menacée des espèces de chauves-souris malgaches : on en recenserait environ 400 individus sur l'îlot.
