The restored Vegas Vickie at Circa Las Vegas!

            In September 2016, my friend Chuck (Barnard) gave me a copy of the shop floor instructions for Vegas Vickie . He was always surprising me with little treats like this. I was so thrilled and I asked him to sign the sheet. He looked at me like I was a few cards short of a full deck. At that time, Vickie was still on Fremont Street. She had seen better days. She needed a good clean and a fair amount of her neon wasn't lighting up anymore. There was a lot of discussion about what should happen to her. At one point, there was even a proposal to split her in half (!?) and create two one-sided signs out of her. Needless to say, glad that did not happen. I was so happy to see the restored Vickie when visiting Las Vegas for the fabulous Nevada Preservation Foundation's Home and History Weekend. She even has her own bar at Circa Las Vegas! When I first saw her, I teared up, knowing that Chuck would never get to see how good she looks again, or how she is widely celebrated now. If you look closely at the restored sign, you will see Chuck's signature on her boot. My friend told me that the signature was pulled from the shop floor instructions I had uploaded to flickr. What do you think? BTW... Great work YESCO! She looks beautiful!
