Is This Not America? (Black Armband of Grief and Mourning)

            After The Flaneur With A Camera began this day's photographing, he stared at this image, waiting for an association, as he often does. What emerged from his mind's ether was the title of David Bowie's song "This Is Not America." Though meant in as ironic, as the Flaneur weighed the association against the reality depicted in the photograph, his response was, "Well, this IS America." He cued the song on his portable handheld device, and played the song, one that didn't really stand out except for the title. Now the Flanuer has a new-found appreciation, especially in the the lines. "...Promise not to stare too long / (This is not America) /
For this is not the miracle." Indeed, David Robert Jones, who, like the Flaneur, worked under a chosen different name. A persona, and all the freedom that that brings.
