Sitting in the palmtree! - a photo on Flickriver

            As you may know we have visited Borneo. We have read a lot about this beautiful island in advance, and we have also seen many documentaries. But nothing can be compared with the "real life" experience. It was usually great, much too hot, but also breathtaking (sometimes because of completely negative feelings). The damage to the land caused by palm oil plantations is enormous. Animals lose their natural habitat and will eventually disappear due to lack of space and lack of food. But other animals adapt easily, grow in numbers precisely because of new food sources. I wanted to take a picture to record the size of a plantation. But while "scanning" I saw this "pigtail" monkey that just sits on top of a palm tree and seems completely happy. And so we came home, a wealth of memories and experiences richer, and ultimately happy with the pictures that will keep these memories alive. The World Wildlife Fund is really trying to maintain our forests, so I support them in their struggle to preserve OUR earth.
