As a port of call for transatlantic shipping, Cherbourg also welcomed the famous passenger ship that was to meet such a tragic end: The Titanic. On 10 April 1912, the Titanic made its last continental stopover on the continent on its only voyage. 281 passengers still boarded here. Inside, the halls are still as they were in those days. On the outside, the traditional building has been transformed into a sustainable roof.

Als Anlaufhafen für den transatlantischen Schiffsverkehr hat Cherbourg auch das berühmte Passagierschiff empfangen, das ein so tragisches Ende nehmen sollte: Die Titanic. Am 10. April 1912 machte die Titanic ihren letzten kontinentalen Zwischenstopp auf dem Kontinent auf ihrer einzigen Reise. 281 Passagiere gingen hier noch an Bord. Die Hallen sind im inneren immer noch erhalten, wie zu damaligen Zeiten. Aussen ist aus dem traditionellen Bau ein Dach mit Nachhaltigkeit entstanden.
