Nong-Khai (Thailand) - With a population of less than 50,000 inhabitants, the border town rises on the southern bank of the Mekong. It is only about twenty kilometers from Vientiane, the Laotian capital.
Few foreign tourists stop in this quiet city. We are only passing through Nong-Khai; to or from Laos, accessible by the Friendship Bridge.

I returned to Nong-Khai after a shortened stay in Laos due to the incessant tropical rains.
As soon as I crossed the Mekong River and set foot in Nong-Khai, the sun immediately appeared. Was it a sign? I ended up staying there for a week. A week of calm away from the hustle and bustle of major Thai cities. 


Nong-Khai (Thaïlande) - Avec une population inférieure  à 50.000 habitans la ville frontalière s’élève sur la rive sud du Mékong. Elle est distante que d’une vingtaine de kilomètres de Vientiane la capitale laotienne.
Rares sont les touristes étrangers qui s’arrêtent dans cette ville pourtant tranquille. On ne fait que passer à Nong-Khai ; pour aller ou revenir du Laos, accessible par le pont de l’Amitié.  
Je suis revenu à Nong-Khai après une séjour écourté au Laos en raison des pluies tropicales incessantes. 
Dès que j’ai franchi le Mékong et que j’ai mis le pied à Nong-Khai, le soleil est immédiatement apparu. Etait-ce un signe ? Finalement j’y suis resté une semaine. Une semaine de calme au loin de l’agitation des grandes villes thaïlandaises.
