Un tour dans la mâture - a photo on Flickriver

            Rouen (France) - Pendant 10 jours l’Armada anime les quais de Rouen. Des quais où les navires marchands n’accostent plus depuis plus de 40 ans, le port ayant été repoussé en aval. L’Armada a été imaginée pour redonner vie à ces quais abandonnés et redorer le blason d’une ville qui s’endormait. 
Devant le succès de l’événement qui réunit tous les 4 ans les plus grands voiliers du monde, les berges de la Seine ont été rendus à la population, réaménagés en espaces de loisirs.
Les 38 navires s’exposent avec plus ou moins de succès. A chaque escale à Rouen, le Cuauhtémoc, voilier-école mexicain reste le plus visité et… le plus accueillant. Outre une balade sur le pont et dans les coursives, l’équipage mexicain organise de nombreuses animations. L’ascension des mâts en harnais et accompagné d’un guide est sans doute l’activité la plus originale. Sur cette photo, les personnes en civil sont des touristes. Mieux qu’à la foire du trône.


Rouen (France) - For 10 days the Armada animates the quays of Rouen. Quays where merchant ships have not docked for more than 40 years, the port having been pushed back downstream. The Armada was designed to bring these abandoned quays back to life.
Given the success of the event which brings together the largest sailing ships in the world every 4 years, the banks of the Seine have been returned to the population, redeveloped into leisure areas.
The 38 ships are exposed with more or less success. At each stopover in Rouen, the Cuauhtémoc, a Mexican sail training vessel, remains the most visited and… the most welcoming. In addition to a walk on deck and in the passageways, the Mexican crew organizes many activities. Climbing the masts in a harness and accompanied by a guide is undoubtedly the most original activity. In this photo, the people in civilian clothes are tourists. Better than at the throne fair.
