Un dimanche à la plage - a photo on Flickriver

            Mandvi (Inde) - Une plage populaire où en 2008, avec mes compagnons de voyage, nous étions les seuls étrangers. Je ne pense pas qu’aujourd’hui on trouve beaucoup plus d’occidentaux sur cette plage car le Gujarat n’est pas l’Etat indien le plus fréquenté par les touristes sédentaires. C’est une destination pour « voyageurs ». En revanche, jusqu’à la crise du Covid, le tourisme indien se développait et la venue des Indiens a incité des entrepreneurs à proposer des animations occidentales comme le jet-ski et autres animations aussi inutiles que polluantes. Ce qui est contradictoire avec les publicités présentant les plages du Gujarat, comme étant des sites naturels préservés. Mais l’Inde n’en est pas à un paradoxe près.

A Sunday at the beach

Mandvi (India) - A popular beach where in 2008, my travel companions and I were the only foreigners. I don't think that today we find many more Westerners on this beach because Gujarat is not the Indian state most frequented by sedentary tourists. It’s a destination for “travelers.” On the other hand, until the Covid crisis, Indian tourism was growing and the arrival of Indians encouraged entrepreneurs to offer Western activities such as jet-skiing and other activities that were as useless as they were polluting. Which is contradictory with the advertisements made on the beaches of Gujarat, presented as being preserved natural sites. But India is not without a paradox.
