On remballe le matériel - a photo on Flickriver

            Fort-Dauphin (Madagascar) - Dans le cadre de l'exercice incendie, les pompiers malgaches ont rapidement maîtrisé le feu. Une demi-heure plus tard, il est totalement éteint et l'adjudant donne l'ordre de remballer le matériel.
Ce reportage sur les pompiers de Fort-Dauphin, je voulais le faire depuis 2019. J'avais les autorisations de la mairie et des autorités militaires, mais il ne se passait pas grand chose. Il n’y avait pas des conseillers français pour organiser des exercices. Et puis à l’époque j’étais surtout venu pour documenter l’installation des puits à pompe dans les villages de brousse. 
Démonstration qu’il ne faut jamais abandonner une idée et savoir saisir sa chance lorsqu’elle se présente.

We repack the equipment

Fort-Dauphin (Madagascar) - As part of the fire drill, Malagasy firefighters quickly brought the fire under control. Half an hour later, it was completely out and the adjutant gave the order to repack the equipment.
I had wanted to do this report on the Fort-Dauphin firefighters since 2019. I had authorization from the town hall and the military authorities, but not much was happening. There were no French advisors to organize exercises. And then at the time I mainly came to document the installation of pump wells in the bush villages.
