La baleine dans le port de Fort-Dauphin

            Fort-Dauphin (Madagascar) - Les fois précédentes où je suis venu à Fort-Dauphin, l'ancien port français situé en contrebas de l’Hôtel de ville, était à l'abandon. J'y suis souvent venu y faire des photos.  Cette année, Surprise ! Il est de nouveau opérationnel. Il sert au cabotage entre Fort-Dauphin et Tamatave, une grande ville portuaire, elle aussi aussi située sur la côte ouest, mais au nord de la Grande-île. 
Ce qui m’a étonné, c’est que les navires marchands qui font la navette entre les deux ports sont, pour la plupart, de véritables poubelles flottantes.

Chose rare à Madagascar, je suis arrêté à l’entrée du vieux port par un vigile qui me demande ce que je viens faire ? Je dis que c’est le maire qui m’a demandé de faire des photos. Ce qui est totalement faux. Le gardien va chercher le chef de quai qui me demande si j’ai une autorisation ? Je réponds : « oui ! ». Ce qui est également faux. Il a vaguement attendu que je lui montre mon autorisation. Comme cette dernière ne venait pas, il n’a pas insisté et m’ai laissé l’accès libre.

En prenant cette photo j'ai réalisé que le cargo s'appelait la "Baleine". Dans le port de Fort Dauphin, « cétacé » cocasse non ?

Fort-Dauphin (Madagascar) - The previous times I came to FortDauphin, the old French port located below the Town Hall, was abandoned. I often came there to take photos. Surprise! It is operational again. It is used for coastal shipping of goods between Fort-Dauphin and Tamatave, a large port city also located on the west coast, but to the north of the Big Island.
What surprised me is that the merchant ships that shuttle between the two cities are, for the most part, real floating trash cans.
A rare thing in Madagascar, I am stopped at the entrance to the old port by a security guard who asks me what I have come to do? I said it was the mayor who asked me to take photos. Which was totally false. I wasn't going to call him on such a small matter. The guard went to get the dock manager who asked me if I had authorization? I say, “Yes! ". Which is also false. He vaguely waited for me to show him my authorization. As the latter didn't come, he didn't insist and left me free access.

While taking this photo I realized that the freighter was called the "Whale". In the port of Fort Dauphin
