Earl & Daryl’s Project - a photo on Flickriver

            Earl and Daryl were hired to move this shed away from the underground concrete structure, which Daryl insists is a bomb shelter.  I think there are a lot of more plausible things it could be, but darned if I can think of any.  The boys were taking a break when I ran across them a couple of months ago.  Naturally I asked why the owner would want to move this decrepit shed to a new location. Earl admitted that the shed was intact when they were hired to move it. He told me that he had left Daryl alone on site while he went back to the shop to get some tools and make a quick stop for a couple of six-packs of beer.
“Daryl, what have you done?  The owners want the shed moved not dismantled!”
“That is why I am taking the wood off, Earl.  Think how much lighter it will be to move.”
“We were not paid enough to buy materials to rebuild the shed!” Earl said pacing back and forth, obviously ready to explode.  
Daryl, hoping to avoid getting yelled at again, interrupted him, “You don’t need to worry, Earl, I have stacked the wood I took off in the new spot so we can put it back on after we move it.”
“The shed may not hold together now when we jack it up. Even if we get it moved, it will be almost impossible to put this old petrified wood back on! Are you a moron? How can we be related, Daryl?”
I decided to leave them to it and go back and check on them in a couple of months ... it is almost time (sigh).
