Beyond the Back Fence - a photo on Flickriver

The Mojave riverbed north of the Rocksprings trestle has lots of Joshua trees—both along the river's banks and in its sandy bed—so it's not surprising to find a handsome specimen, like this one, growing on the east bank beyond the back fence of a small desert ranch.

Camera: Ferrania Euramatic FC (1968). A stylish Italian 126-film camera with zone focus and three apertures—nice for shooting expired film :-) The Euromatic was one of the handful of cameras, all 126 format, which were the last to be manufactured in Ferrania's famous Milan factory (bencinistory.altervista.org/001%20CAM.%20FERRANIA/storiaf..., text in Italian).

Film: Kodak Verichrome Pan 126 (expired 1974), developed in Arista Liquid Developer (1+9) for 5:30 minutes @ 69 degrees, and scanned with an Epson V600 scanner. This particular 126 cartridge was manufactured in Chalon-sur-Saône, France, by Kodak-Pathé, the French subsidiary of Eastman Kodak, and was one of a dozen I bought inexpensively last summer from a French online seller.
