Shovels - a photo on Flickriver

Shovels

Two shovels leaning against the little hay barn—one pointed, one flat—cast and catch shadows in the afternoon sun. An outdoor still life of sorts, with the shovels stilled in their digging and the shadows momentarily stilled in their movement across the barnyard.

Camera: Lomography La Sardina (2011, Eight Ball model, with 22mm f/8 lens, www.flickr.com/photos/nesster/52834956601/in/photolist-2o...). A little polycarbonate 35mm camera modeled after the "sardine tin" cameras of the late thirties, like the Irwin Kandor (www.flickr.com/photos/kratz/4115380286/in/photolist-9qWgP...), but with a wide angle lens the same focal length as that of the Vivitar/Reto Ultra Wide & Slim. With a fixed aperture and shutter speed of f/8 and 1/100 (plus "Bulb"), and focus settings of 0.6-1m and 1m-infinity. I shot this image using the close focus setting.

Film: 35mm 100 ISO Arista.edu Ultra, developed in Arista Liquid Developer (1+9) for 6:30 minutes @ 70 degrees, and scanned with an Epson V600 scanner.
