2004-06-12 - Carroll Park & Muppets

            Once a year, the athletic field half of Carroll Park in Brooklyn is turned into a flea market.  Many of the residents in the surrounding area take advantage of the festivity and set up their own stoop sales.  This was a great boon to us this particular year as we found a guy selling an incredible selection of Muppet merchandise just a block or so away from the park.  It turned out this this man had worked in the sales department of Jim Henson’s company and was now selling off a large portion of his collected samples.  Fortunately, my sister and I already had a lot of what was up for grabs, but there was still plenty to choose from, stuff we never knew existed.  

The real prize was the Swedish Chef puppet.  This turned out to be a handmade sample for a toy that may not have ever gone into production!
