Super Macro 5X - a photo on Flickriver

Super Macro 5X

            ~5:1 macro using a 4X macro lens with 26mm of extension; it worked! The working distance somehow stayed about the same with extension as opposed to no extension. Aperture of somewhere between F/2.8 & F/4, single photo edited in Photoshop CC. The length of the largest crystals here, about one millimeter. The more magnification is achieved with a lens, the smaller the aperture range within which optical resolution can still be obtained. The specific lens was a very simple, single element lens design. Mitakon 20mm F/2. I might not use the extension with this particular lens much, or never, but might use it much with the upcoming Viltrox 23mm F/1.4, to see how much I can go in magnification while using Autofocus along with Fuji's focus bracketing feature, before using focus stacking.The Viltrox should be able to achieve considerably better rendition of fine detail, while allowing a macro ratio of about 1.3X, but not having the lens to at least test, is the working distance going to exist, to even make it possible?
