we missed the bluebonnets. . - a photo on Flickriver

            ..but not that much!

The same rain that made the Big Show of bluebonnets extra big and bright this year, also brought out all the rest of the wildflowers that come after.. Prickly pear cactus, Indian Blankets, Coreopsis, and so many more were in full bloom, even if the sun wasn't. 

But - knowing what full sun can be like in Texas, being a little overcast and hazy wasn't all bad. It kept the temperature down, and the humidity up. Gotta take the bitter with the sweet, ya know..
