218 319-2 RPRS I DGS 69130 I Gundelsheim (14898)

            Es war ein enges Wettrennen mit der Zeit. Als die Meldung aufkam, dass die schöne orientrote 218 319-2 einen Holzzug von Kronach nach Kaufering befördern würde, kam es zu bangen Blicken auf die Wetterkarten. Um noch eine kleine Chance auf ein Bild zu haben, musste dem Zug ein gutes Stück entgegengefahren werden. Doch auch vor Ort war das Wolkenband bereits nah herangekommen und der Zug, welcher einen planmäßigen Halt in Treuchtlingen einlegen sollte, war noch nicht in Sicht. Glücklicherweise erklang rund zwei Minuten vor Lichtende der allseits bekannte Klang eines unter Volllast arbeitenden TB 11 Motors. Im wahrsten Sinne letzen Moment schlich der lange Zug in Schrittgeschwindigkeit an den beiden wartenden Fotografen entlang.

It was a close race against time. When the news came that the beautiful oriental red 218 319-2 would transport a timber train from Kronach to Kaufering, people looked at the weather charts with fear. In order to still have a small chance of a picture, we had to drive a good distance towards the train. But the cloud band had already come close on site and the train, which was to make a scheduled stop in Treuchtlingen, was not yet in sight. Fortunately, about two minutes before the end of sunlight, the well-known sound of a TB 11 engine working under full load could be heard. In the truest sense of the word, the long train was creping past the two waiting photographers at walking pace.
