Pocklington Canal - Gardam Landing - a photo on Flickriver

            This the boat landing where boats can wait for access to Gardam Lock

In the distance, you can see the outline of Gardam Lock and Swing Bridge No 3. This is a little different to most locks as the swing bridge crosses the centre of the lock There are picnic tables at the lock

The fields to ether side are "Ings" land which is designed to flood when the River Derwent backs up during the winter months

The Pocklington Canal is a broad canal that runs for 9.5 miles through nine locks from the Canal Head near Pocklington in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England, to the River Derwent which it joins near East Cottingwith. Most of it lies within a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest
