1961 Ford Consul MKII “TFO 468” (1)

            I took this photo back in May 2019 of a 1961 Ford Consul 375 MKII Deluxe “Lowline” 4-door saloon, [204E], W/ six-character black plate Radnorshire registration “TFO 468”, painted in a dulled shade of “Ermine White”/”Lime Green”. Front-quarter onside view.

The car was safely stacked high atop containers, visible from the roadside, at Farrow’s metal recycling scrap yard near Pocklington, North Yorkshire, U.K. As soon as I saw the car, I drove into the yard and instantly inquired about it. Apparently, the family had only recently purchased the car, allegedly from the actor Mark Addy (Full Monty/Game Of Thrones fame), who used it as a wedding car. I cannot confirm this being true, but fortunately the Consul was bought and saved sometime later. According to the DVLA, the logbook was last issued in April 2021, and currently has a SORN title, but I am not sure where the car is now, or what state of repair/disrepair it is in. Looking at these photos, the Consul was in quite a solid + complete state, just with some light surface corrosion, ripe for a restoration. Although keeping that window open would not have done the interior upholstery any good.
