Humberside Police ‘Op Galaxy’ POU YX58 HFU

            Luck would have it, Clough Road is my new commute road to and from University, and what's situated down there? A major fire station and a major police station. Expect to see some highlights from that! One Sunday a couple weeks ago on a trial run for a possible walking commute down Clough Road, I happened upon one of the few old-style Sprinter vans for some reason leaving The Range. Per the FOI list, I did assume this was a Grimsby POU, but I think the stickering blows that theory out of the window!

Well, there you go, they are marking out fleet vehicles for it. Per, the Humberside Police website, 'Operation Galaxy' is Humberside Police's 'proactive task force' - or in layman's terms, an umbrella of the major crime, traffic, CID and armed departments. Through this, Humberside have procured some black 330d X-Drives, and I really want to have a look at one of those! I assume this van, meanwhile is used for transporting officers to kick doors in. It's the only one I've seen with logos explicitly marking out 'Op: Galaxy', and even then, they looks a bit battered about. In essence, is this a wider-in-scope equivalent of Merseyside's Matrix teams? I always thought the name was just for a few months of drug-busting.

Seen here as the only vehicle I've seen with 'Operation: Galaxy' logos on it, Humberside Police's YX58 HFU, a 2008 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Public Order Unit, is seen here departing from The Range and turning back onto Clough Road while likely on a meal run back to the Clough Road police station.
